A performance, three dancers, a narrating voice. Maccheroni is about three women who grapple with the theme of food and the desire to care for themselves. Food impacts our psychological well-being, but how exactly? Set in a vintage atmosphere reminiscent of the advertising style from the 1980s, the piece brings to life the overwhelming slogans of a communication culture that aims to sell the image of a woman who is always more attractive and efficient. It’s a leap into a hedonistic world that pushes towards forced happiness, yet secretly conceals the dissatisfaction of not being able to find oneself. Luckily, there are always Maccheroni.
