The Cantos of the Divina Commedia. Listen to them in a public square, surrounded by the everyday world that keeps on moving, yet set apart by the personal experience of stereo headphones.
The artists appear in three crystal prisms, each dedicated to dance, music, and recitation.
Spectators can pick and choose—there’s a “Canto Menu,” reminiscent of a wine list, allowing everyone to hear, see, and listen to whichever verses they prefer. Dante Market Place is a performance that aims to bring together the world of the marketplace—where purchases are made and desires fulfilled—and the world of art, which puts itself on display for the public. The lines of the Divine Comedy are offered up, tempting the viewer like forbidden fruit that each of us is free to taste.
